Did you know that 95% of all diets fail? Only 40,000 people a year achieve their weight lose goal on average. That is shocking compared to the millions that try to lose weight each and every year. And many times after the weight loss goal is achieved some will gain the weight back plus additional weight.

A diet is often looked at as a short term fix for a long term problem. Dieting has to be looked at as a permanent lifestyle change in form of your eating habits. For this reason your diet is doomed from the start. Anybody can follow a healthy eating plan for a couple of weeks or even a month or two. To keep the weight off the healthy eating habits have to continue for life.

When you have achieved your diet goal it is essential that you still eat healthy. When you stop dieting and begin to consume many of the fatty high calorie foods that you once ate that got you overweight to start with you may eventually gain your weight back plus maybe more. It is a terrible cycle that many wind up in.

Now that is not to say that you will never be able to eat your favorite foods again after your weight loss goal has been achieved you just have to be careful of what you eat. You should continue to eat the healthy foods that you became accustomed to eating during the diet and only eat your favorite foods in small portions now and then.

Regardless if you are aware of it or not everyone follows a diet. It is just frequently an unhealthy diet. We all have our foods that we have a tendency to eat a lot of. Those foods just have to be switched to healthier foods. A suitable diet program will not leave you hungry. Eating healthy negative calorie foods can have you as full as you can be.
